Every piece starts with the end in mind. Where is this going to be seen? How long is it going to be kept? Is it just for an instagram post for a few likes? Besides the one day where it is used, will this piece become a custom keepsake for your guests, a centerpiece for a home, or maybe a symbol to represent a lifetime commitment.

Practice makes perfect right? In my opinion there is no "perfect" for letterers, there is only improvement. Every letter written, brings a deeper understanding of composition and connection between letters. Daily practice keeps the machine oiled and functioning. Everyday, I take time to letter a single page in my journal. (Whether I think that piece deserves an instagram post is a different matter entirely.)

However, there are those special moments when I get to create something that will last for my clients forever. Whether that just be in photographs, in the memories of all their witnesses, or taken home with them as a keepsake. These are the pieces I cherish the most, because it represents the trust my clients have in me to deliver for them.
